The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) declared this product as a Schedule IV Controlled Substance under the Controlled Substances Act, 1970. Due to this drug’s sedative effects on the user, it has been increasingly misused by people (including youngsters). Now Soma pill is marketed as a prescription-only drug in the United States.

Note that this smart drug should always be used for medical reasons and not for the non-prescribed or recreational reasons. People less than 18 years of age must never receive these pain medications.

What precautions should you follow while taking this pain med?

• ·        You must never share this drug with any other person mainly those who have an addiction to drugs or alcohol. The drug Carisoprodol can be somewhat addictive especially for the ones who were drug addicts before. It is against the law to share or sell this pain medication.
• ·        Avoid activities like driving because this pain medication can cause some kind of dizziness in the user. It might not be safe for you to get indulged in any activities requiring mental alertness.

• ·        Those people who have a genetic enzyme disorder called porphyria should not take this pain medication. Do provide all of your medical reports to your doctor before you use this drug.

Note that this medication is prescribed for a very short duration (usually not more than 2-3 weeks). Do not use the drug for a longer time than the mentioned time period. Those who have muscle spasms take about 250-350 mg of Soma drug about four times during a day. You must never overdose on this product. Also take proper rest and physical therapy along with it.
