This wakefulness-enhancer, Modvigil, is a manufactured product of an Indian pharmaceutical company called HAB Pharma. It is a brand version of Modafinil that is an approved treatment for medical conditions like sleep apnea, narcolepsy and shift work sleep disorder. The approval from the FDA was given in the year 1998. This smart pill cannot entirely cure the sleep disorders altogether but can help to provide a sort of normal life for the sufferers of sleep disorders. It can help them be active, energetic, and motivated towards their work.

Another reason for which this smart pill is used is its cognitive improvement abilities. It is a non-approved use of this product. It helps healthy people to gain an improved memory, better reasoning abilities, improved focus and concentration, and an increased attention span. This smart pill is said to provide people with a mood-brightening effect. It also helps in improving the social confidence in people.

What is the appropriate time for taking Modvigil?

Well, as it is a drug for enhancing wakefulness in a person, it would be appropriate to take it in the morning. This is for especially those who experience extreme daytime sleepiness due to medical conditions like narcolepsy and sleep apnea. Taking the pills in the morning time would keep them awake and active for the whole day. Night time or even evenings won’t be appropriate for using this smart drug as it would keep the person awake for the whole night and cause sleep disturbances.

Those people who have shift work sleep disorders can take this smart pill about an hour before they go to work. The rotating shift workers should consume it as per the prescribed time of the doctor.
This smart drug is not recommended for anybody below the age of 18 years. One must provide detailed medical history and information on currently used drugs and treatments to the doctor.
