Modalert is a wake-fulness agent used to stay awake, be better focused, and to work better, modafinil has also been found to be a very effective cognitive enhancer that improves the power of decision-making. It is thought to work by affecting certain brain chemicals that control the sleep/wake cycle and has been shown to enhance wakefulness, attention capacity and vigilance. First approved for excessive sleepiness caused by narcolepsy in 1998, the drug is now frequently prescribed off-label for a host of conditions from depression to multiple sclerosis.

Modalert is a medicine which is utilized for reducing extreme sleepiness in patients with sleep disorders like narcolepsy. It can be generally used for people who feel sleepy during unusual hours due to unpredictable lifestyle. It is also known for its cognitive enhancing abilities. This drug is orally administered and should not be overdosed. If used for a long time this drug can affect sleeping habits, and difficulty in getting enough sleep may be experienced. Heart pounding, excessive sweating, agitation, hallucination and similar symptoms should be reported to the doctor at once.

This product has a tendency of interacting with birth control pills and may reduce the efficacy of such medicines which could result in pregnancy. Certain medicines like Axitinib, Bosutinib, may be affected by Modalert, Hence, doctor’s consultation is necessary in such cases.
