Viagra comes from a class of drug known as PDE-5 (Phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitors. This ED pill is the Brand name for a drug called as Sildenafil.  Viagra is very well known and popular among the masses as an ED (erectile dysfunction) pill.  It helps to treat the impotence in Men. So it is advisable not to take Viagra and Nitrates at the same time.

Working Action of Viagra

The ED pill does not cure the impotence problem it just treats the issue. But yes you can feel and realize a huge difference in your life once you start using Viagra. Generally, the mechanism of erection is- it happens when a man has sexually stimulated then the nervous system in the erectile tissue of the penis releases nitric oxide (NO).

The nitric oxide then stimulates an enzyme that produces something called a messenger cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). The cGMP relaxes the smooth muscle cells. One result of this is that the arteries in your penis dilate and the blood can flow into your penis more easily. Another result is that the erectile tissue itself fills with blood. Both of these processes result in an erection.  Here the ED pill works by maintaining the level of cGMP in the smooth muscle cells.

 This is how Viagra works inside our system, but, if you are not turned on or sexually active, then your brain will not stimulate the release of any nitric oxide and you will not produce any cGMP. Thus you won’t get an erection. The medicine will only work effectively when you will be sexually excited.
